WHY HOST AN OUTDOOR MOVIE EVENT?

Who loves watching movies? EVERYONE! Outdoor cinema promotes a sense of community, and can attract a following from within a surrounding area. The uniqueness of big sound, with a large screen will attract curiosity of others, and grow that "friends and family" feeling.

WHAT AREAS DO YOU SERVICE?

CineStar Movie Company is based in Frisco, Texas and can easily service a 25 mile radius. With more advance planning, we can service pretty much anywhere in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex. A delivery charge may apply.

DO YOU PROVIDE A MOVIE LIST TO CHOOSE FROM?

CineStar Movie Company cannot provide the movie for your event. It would be against the copyright laws for us to do so. Be wary of companies that say they can provide a movie title, or have a list of titles to choose from, they are operating against the laws, and ultimately YOU, the end user, would be responsible for any legal action. Also, it is against the law for us to provide a Public Viewing license for your event, so be wary of companies saying they include that or do it for you. HOW MUCH DOES A MOVIE EVENT COST?

There are a few factors that make up the total cost of a movie event. The venue, the number of viewers, length of feature, single/multiple event, travel, extras like FunPack or Mother Nature Plan...all make up the final cost. If the event is to be shown in a public place, event licensing is something else to consider when putting together a budget. Contact us today to get a quote!

HOW BIG ARE THE SCREENS?

Currently, we provide three screen sizes, the "small" (12'x7'), the "medium" (16'x9') and the "large" (20'x12'). True 1080p assumes widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9 and a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. Beware of those promoting 1080p on a square screen. It isn't accurate and most likely NOT true 1080p HD. Furthermore, most lower quality screens come in a square size.

WILL THE SCREENS KILL THE GRASS?

Setting up our inflatable movie screen for a one-night event will not have an impact to the venue. The movie screens that we use are designed to distribute the weight of the screen over the entire surface of the frame, and the total weight of the screens is less than 200 lbs. The screens are setup only a couple hours before the movie is to start and are taken down immediately after the movie screening.

WHAT MOVIES CAN I SHOW?

Pretty much anything that is available on DVD/Blu-Ray, even digital media if available. Some of the best options are animated new releases, especially with younger viewers, but don't count out the classics either! Maybe something YOU watched as a kid. Comedy, Action, Drama? All up to you and your audience. Also, anything that can be hooked up to a TV can be projected (cable box, game system, laptop, etc).

DO I NEED TO PURCHASE A LICENSE TO SHOW A MOVIE OUTDOORS?

It depends. If you are showing a film for your family and close friends, in your backyard, or within the boundaries of your private property, then no. If you are showing a film in the field behind your house, at a public pool, for an apartment complex or HOA, then YES, you do. Please visit the Licensing Page for more information. CineStar Movie Company cannot provide this license, and the responsibility is on the end user.

WHAT TIME DOES THE MOVIE START?

Our projectors are bright enough to see images on the movie screen right around sundown. For the best possible movie experience we suggest starting the movie at dusk, or 20-30 minutes after sundown. Being able to see an image is one thing, but to get the best picture and contrast it must be dark. Sunset times are available from www.sunrisesunset.com. Here in Texas, with the different seasons and daylight savings, the times can vary. In the early spring and late fall, be sure to factor in the early sunset times.

DO YOU PROVIDE CONCESSIONS?

Kind of. We have the availability of a popcorn machine to rent, which comes with popcorn, and serving bags. If you are looking to host a larger event and in need of more "festival food", let us know. We do work with a few food vendors in the area.

CAN YOU HELP FIND US PRE-MOVIE ENTERTAINMENT?

We will provide pre-movie music for 20-30 minutes prior to the feature. If you are looking for bounce-houses, slides, carnival games, photobooths, or anything else to do, please let us know. We do have partnering companies we work with and can assist you in getting that scheduled. Need more than 30 minutes of music? I also work with DJs in the area.

DO YOU PROVIDE CHAIRS?

No. I don't have the room to store them or way to transport them if we did.

CAN HIGH WIND CAUSE CANCELLATION?

Yes. High winds will blow the screens around and could damamge them. CineStar Movie Company does reserve the right to protect our equipment in the event the winds are too great to be safe.

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?

For a couple days all the way up to traveling to your event, we will be watching the weather forecasts. If there is a 40% or greater chance of rain, we will be in contact with you regarding your options.

If during setup or during the event the weather looks threatening (imminent rain, rain, looming thunder clouds, dangerous winds capable of damaging equipment) CineStar Movie Company reserves the right to protect its own equipment by cancelling setup/production.

CineStar Movie Company reserves the right to delay setup or to pause the production until suitable weather conditions exist. During your event, we will have access to live weather radar and keep you informed of any weather changes that would effect your event.

During the initial planning of your event, we will discuss a Mother Nature Plan. In the event rain is forecast, it is possible to have a backup date already booked. Ask for more details.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

We can accept pretty much any form of payment. Personal checks must be received and cleared prior to event date. If you would like to save a little by paying cash, let us know and we can quote that.

DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?

Yes, of course. And not only are we insured, we also have a "Great Night Guarantee!"
